These workshops will present a comprehensive review of the structure, function and test operating characteristics of the recently published WAIS-IV, WMS-IV and the Advanced Clinical Solutions (ACS) package and provide clinical guidelines for the use of these instruments in assessing cases of dementia, traumatic brain injury and psychiatric disorders as well as discussing their use in cases of intellectual disability and in factitious disorders. The aim of the workshop is to provide clinicians with sensible, psychometrically sound, guidelines for conducting assessments of intelligence and memory in the clinical setting and to do so in a way that is both clinically and statistically meaningful.

This half-day workshop is presented by Draga Jevtic from Pearson Clinical and Talent Assessments and provides an introduction to a new, shorter version of the MMPI-2, the 338-item MMPI-2-RF.

The workshop will provide a basic overview of the rationale for, and methods used to develop the MMPI-2-RF, the various materials available to score and interpret the test, the psychometric functioning of the scales, and interpretive recommendations. Case examples will be presented to illustrate interpretation.

 For some children the ability to use their senses effectively is not well developed.  This may result in difficulties understanding and interpreting everyday sensory information such as touch, sound and movement.  Children with sensory processing difficulties may appear timid, anxious, awkward or clumsy, or be messy and distracted.  This can cause great distress for the child and his/her family and may create challenges at home and in the classroom.

Attending this seminar will assist you to develop new ways of working with children by looking at challenging behaviors in a different way.  Kate will provide you with practical strategies as well as information about where to go for help and how to access further advice or support.
