Pearson Clinical and Talent Assessment is pleased to announce that Kate Pascale, Author of "Can't you See I'm Sensational" will present this introductory seminar designed for parents, carers, educators and health professionals with an interest in sensory processing difficulties. This seminar will provide you with an understanding of how children's sensory skills develop and how to adapt activities to cater for children with a wide range of sensory needs.

For some children the ability to use their senses effectively is not well developed. This may result in difficulties understanding and interpreting everyday sensory information such as touch, sound and movement. Children with sensory processing difficulties may appear timid, anxious, awkward or clumsy, or be messy and distracted. This can cause great distress for the child and his/her family and may create challenges at home and in the classroom.

Attending this seminar will assist you to develop new ways of working with children by looking at challenging behaviors in a different way. Kate will provide you with practical strategies as well as information about where to go for help and how to access further advice or support.

Pearson Clinical and Talent Assessment would like to invite you to take part in a national norms development project for 3 of our gold-standard human resource assessments. The Watson-Glaser Critical Thinking Appraisal (Watson-Glaser), the Raven’s Advanced Progressive Matrices (APM) and the SOSIE personality and values questionnaire.

All managerial level personnel are eligible to participate and in doing so, will form part of a global effort to develop reliable, local normative data for these important assessments, a first for Australia and New Zealand. In return for your participation, you will have free access to the assessments for the study and receive a personalised feedback report which can be used for future professional development.

Watson-Glaser is the gold-standard for measuring critical thinking ability and decision-making in high potential professionals and future leaders. The Watson-Glaser specifically measures the ability to recognise assumptions, evaluate arguments and draw conclusions.

Raven’s APM is a leading global non-verbal measure of mental ability, helping to identify individuals with advanced observation and clear thinking skills who can handle the complexity and ambiguity of the modern workplace. Raven’s APM offers information about a person’s capacity for analysing and solving problems, abstract reasoning, as well as their learning potential. Cultural bias is reduced using a nonverbal approach.

The SOSIE is a questionnaire used to help individuals learn more about their work preferences and the values they hold. These are important aspects of career choice, job and organisational fit and professional development.

This is a wonderful opportunity for your management team to complete these gold-standard assessments and be an integral part of the Australian and New Zealand management population group.

We are seeking individuals who:

  • Supervise professionals or first-line managers,
  • Manage projects, or
  • Direct, coordinate, guide or make decisions about processes and operations

You and your managers can contribute by:

  • Completing the few brief background-information questions
  • Completing either one or all of the online assessments, un-timed Watson-Glaser (approximately 35-minutes) and/or the 42-minute multiple-choice APM and/or the SOSIE questionnaire, under supervision.
  • Pearson will provide full support in setting-up and administering the assessment. Options for taking part in only one of these assessments are available and should be discussed with your local Pearson Talent Consultant

Benefits to you and your team include:

  • Free access to the assessments and full support from Pearson to administer the assessments online and under supervision.
  • Complimentary development and feedback reports of your results which can be used for future professional development.
  • Access to Pearson’s local Talent Assessment psychologists for a confidential discussion of the results and their application.
  • Contribution to local management norms for the Watson-Glaser, Ravens and SOSIE – the first in Australia and New Zealand.

All data will be de-identified and confidentiality maintained. Only de-identified raw data will be used in the norming process.

Your participation is greatly appreciated and with permission, will be formally acknowledged in the published manuals.
