The Infant/Toddler Sensory Profile provides a standardised method for measuring young children’s sensory processing abilities and links sensory processing with daily life performance. The profile helps therapists, early childhood educators and parents measure the effect of sensory processing on functional performance in the daily life of the child.
Caregivers complete a judgement-based questionnaire reporting the frequency with which infants/toddlers respond to various sensory experiences (Almost Always, Frequently, Occasionally, Seldom, or Almost Never). The Profile provides validated and reliable scores to assist with intervention planning.
The assessment examines six sensory processing systems:
-
General Processing
-
Auditory Processing
-
Visual Processing
-
Tactile Processing
-
Vestibular Processing
-
Oral Sensory Processing
It is appropriate for children with a range of abilities.
