Use the Sensory Profile to determine how children aged 3 to 10 process sensory information in everyday situations and link the results with functional performance. The results can contribute to a comprehensive assessment of a child’s occupation and participation.
Caregivers complete the 125 question profile, reporting the frequency with which the child responds to various sensory experiences. Once the questionnaire is completed, use the Summary Score Sheet to obtain a profile of the child’s sensory responses. The items on the Sensory Profile are grouped into three major sections: sensory processing, modulation, and behavioural and emotional responses.
Use the Profile’s nine factor groupings to obtain standardised data about a child’s tendency to exhibit behavioural outcomes of sensory processing - sensory seeking, emotionally reactive, low endurance/tone, oral sensory sensitivity, inattention/distractibility, poor registration, sensory sensitivity, sedentary, and fine motor/perceptual.
Also included is the Short Sensory Profile, a 38-item caregiver questionnaire and score sheet ideal for use in screening and research protocols.
