The renowned language expert Elisabeth Wiig and an esteemed group of leaders in neuropsychology, neuropsychiatry and gerontology teamed up to develop the AQT.
The AQT was designed as a quick, objective, reliable and sensitive standardised neurolinguistic screening tool to assess:
-
automaticity, speed and fluency in naming
-
ability to perform rapid cognitive shifts between the visual stimuli that form the input and the semantic fields from which the appropriate names must be retrieved
-
activation of working memory for processing and monitoring the naming of familiar visual stimuli, and
-
parietal lobe functioning associated with neurogenic disorders
The AQT is highly reliable and consistent screening tool that is independent of gender differences, education, and cultural and linguistic background differences.
