The Crawford Small Parts Dexterity Test is designed to measure an applicant’s handeye coordination and fine motor dexterity to determine if they have the skills vital in positions requiring agility and strong dexterity. Typically, these positions include:

The test starts with a wooden board (10” x 10” x 1”) with separate wells for pins, collars and screws. The applicant performs two sets of activities:
Part I
With tweezers, the applicant inserts small pins into close fi tting holes in a plate, then places small collars over protruding pins.
Time: 3 minutes
Part II
The applicant places small screws into threaded holes in the plate. They then screw them down with the screwdriver until they strike the metal tray below.
Time: 5 minutes
The manual offers easy-to-understand directions for administering the test and interpreting results.
